S.League Haze Guidelines Amended

Following an internal review, the Football Association of Singapore has decided to realign their haze guidelines for the S.League and Prime League competition with the corresponding guidelines of Sport Singapore and the Asian Football Confederation. With immediate effect, the S.League and Prime League competitions will now be following the National Environment Agency’s 24 hours Pollution Standard Index instead of the 3 hours reading.

Matches at Hougang Stadium will follow the 24 hours PSI reading for the North geographic sector, alongside Yishun, Woodlands, Serangoon and Choa Chu Kang stadiums. The West sector covers Jurong East, Jurong West and Bukit Gombak stadiums; the Central sector covers Toa Payoh and Jalan Besar stadiums; and the East sector covers Bedok Stadium.

The new guidelines are as follows:

  • Matches will proceed as normal when the 24 hours PSI is under 201.
  • Matches will be called off if the 24 hours PSI index is above 300 at 5:00 pm, above 250 at 6 pm, or above 200 at 9:00 pm.
  • Matches will be delayed if the 24 hours PSI index is above 200 at 7 pm and/or 8 pm. Matches that cannot kick off by 9:30 pm or end by 11:30 pm will be postponed.

Hougang United Football Club welcome the above changes by the FAS.
