Hougang United playing their 6th competitive match of the season, and their 2nd game in the span of 4 days. Head Coach, Clement Teo made 1 change to the starting line-up from Sunday’s game with Afiq Noor coming in for Shawal Anuar.

The home side almost took the lead in the 3rd minute when midfielder, Kristijan Krajcek floated in a cross from the right. Stiker, Šime Žužul was left unmarked in the box before heading in the ball on target, Cheetah’s captain, Khairulhin made a good save by parrying the ball away brilliantly.

Both teams did not create much in the first period. The home side then takes the lead when Kristijan Krajcek led a counter-attacking move. His shot was again save by Khairulhin but the rebound was put away by Šime Žužul in the 39th minute.

Hougang United makes the first change of the match when Shahfiq Ghani replaces Nikesh during the interval.

The Cheetahs started the second period brightly with good interchangeable play. The equalizer came when Afiq Noor put Nazrul Nazari through on goal, his cut-back found Stipe Plazibat and he taps it in to make it 1-1.

In the 58th minute, Hougang United were ahead when the Tiger’s goal-keeper, Zaiful Nizam fouled Farhan in the box. Stipe makes no mistake from the resulting penalty to make it 3 out of 3 from the spot this season.

The home side soon found their way back into the game when defender , Ahmad Syahir’s long range volley hit the cross bar. Shuhei Hoshino was the quicker to react to pounce on the loose ball to make it 2-2.

The game were then stretched with both teams had numerous chances to win the game. It ended one point apiece in the battle of the Cats.
