Our Prime League team friendly game against Sporting Westlake was abandoned midway in the first half, when young goalkeeper Ameerul Shafeeq met with a mishap with a Sporting Westlake striker.
Ameerul Shafeeq was challenging for the ball from a 50-50 challenge, which he got to the ball first. However, the Sporting Westlake striker didnt managed to stop in time and caught his boot into the custodian’s face.
Ameerul is currently in Tan Tock Seng Hospital which required stitches in his deep cut.
Ameerul, who also happens to be the younger brother of Woodlands’ defender Rosman Sulaiman, has one start in his name so far for Hougang back in 2011, when he kept in goal for Hougang’s comeback victory against Gombak United, which ended 3-2.
