HGFC Scorers: Shameer Aziq 65′, 76′, 91′ pen
Shameer Aziq, the 18-year old wonderkid for the Cheetahs, capped off a great performance, however, as the Cheetahs fell to a 4-3 defeat against the promising NFA Reds at the Hougang Stadium on Thursday evening.
Shameer capped off a fantastic display, as he scored a hat trick in the last 25 minutes to give the Cheetahs a lifeline to get any points from the game, unfortunately it was too late for the Cheetahs.
However, it was an indication of hope for the Prime League Boys, who saw new Prime League Coach Amin Nasir taking his place in the bench for the first time this season, since signing a contract for the Cheetahs. None of the senior players were taking their place in the team, which gave the Cheetahs a slight disadvantage going in this game.
The boys were down 2-0 at half time, after Iqram Rifqi and Muhammad Azhar Ramli had scored in the 41st and 43rd minute respectively, and by the 58th minute, the NFA Blues had scored two more goals through Noor Faridzuan and Bryan Tan, and were down 4-0.
However, Shameer Aziq gave a lifeline for the Cheetahs by scoring in the 65th minute and the 71st minute to gave the Cheetahs a lifeline to salvage any points in the game.
However, the third goal came late in injury time, with a penalty converted by the no.27. The Cheetahs ended the game with their second defeat in a row, however, some positives could be noted on this game.
