The Prime League boys were finally defeated after a 5-game winning streak; at the hands of table toppers Balestier Khalsa at Hougang Stadium on an overcast Saturday evening.
The skies were slightly grey, however, a few football enthusiasts were keen on watching the game, due to an ever improving Hougang side, who recently regained confidence.
The game was evenly contested in the first half with both sides having near misses and chances coming aplenty. However, Balestier took the lead on 24 minutes, through midfielder Casteels Tzu-Ming (25).
However, the ever improving player in the Hougang squad, Hwang Kok Chang slotted home his third Prime League goal of the season for an equalizer, after a terrific play that led up to the goal.
Unfortunately for the Cheetahs, they could not manage another stunning victory nor secure any points, with Casteels again winning his side all three points, after another goal in the 73rd minute.
