Hougang United’s opponents for the 2020 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup have been confirmed.

The draw took place on 10 December, Tuesday at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur.
The Cheetahs were drawn in Group F with Ho Chi Minh City F.C. (Vietnam), Lao Toyota F.C. (Laos) and either Yangon United (Myanmar) or Indera SC (Brunei).
Yangon United and Indera SC will go into a two-legged playoff to determine the eventual winner to take the fourth spot in Group F.

This is the very first time the Cheetahs have qualify for the prestigious Asian club tournament, after they have finished third in the Singapore Premier League (SPL) table in 2019 season. Brunei DPMM were crowned champions, and hence the next 2 local teams in the table will represent Singapore in the AFC tournament.
HOW TO PROGRESS TO THE NEXT STAGE?
There are 6 games to play in the group stages, with 3 home and 3 away matches in each group. In the 3 ASEAN Zone, only 4 teams will progress to the next stage. The top 3 teams will automatically go through to the ASEAN Zonal semi-finals. The remaining slot goes to the next team that has the highest points among the 3 groups.
